Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, the administrators of Brighton General Cemetery.

WALKS & HAPPENINGS FOR 2025

July 27  – Open House Melbourne – “They Built the City”

Walks at 10am, 12 midday & 2pm. Self Guided Walks also available

Notable contemporary, historic, and sustainable buildings and spaces located in and around the Melbourne City Centre, Carlton, East Melbourne, Southbank, Docklands, the Greater Melbourne area and around Victoria are opened for visitors as part of this initiative. Well-known buildings not usually open to the public are open for free public tours. Among the buildings included are historical landmarks, contemporary buildings, galleries, theatres, sporting grounds, and places of worship.

October 12th – Early Colonists of the Cemetery at 2pm

October  19th 170th Anniversary of the First Recorded Burial of Joanne Manson

November  7th – Flag Commemoration – another 50 flags being placed – a total of 400

                         16 –  Remembrance Day Walk

                         17 – Flags come down

December 7th Christmas Lunch
