Flag Commemoration and Anzac Walk
As part of the FLAG Commemoration being held on Friday 11th April 2025 where another 50 Australian Flags attached to a pole will be placed at the side of Veterans graves to publicly commemorate the role of our Men and Women during the Boer War, WW1 & WW2. A Commemoration Service will be held in the area near the office on 11th April at 9.30 am. These 50 flags will join the previous 300 flags. The 350 flags will be ‘flying’ from 11th April till 28th April 2025
The Anzac walk on Sunday 13th April 2025 will begin near the front gate at 2pm
On this ANZAC walk we will visit 8 service persons who have been honoured with a flag. Hugh James Martin who was a member of the RSL Executive for 30 years, he helped organise the first Anzac Day March in Melbourne in March 1925 and supported recognition for the day as a Public Holiday. Harry James Joseph Maddox who was the first President of the Automobile Club of Victoria [RACV], and Sister Annie Frances Griffin who served in various hospitals in India.
